It is with great sadness that we announce that Bungalo Book co-founder, illustrator and author John Bianchi has passed away. He was a talented artist, a valuable friend and a truly funny man.

Welcome to the new incarnation of Bungalo Books. After 26 years publishing printed books, Bungalo made the switch to ebooks in 2012 — more specifically multi-touch ebooks for Apple’s iPad. (They also work on Macs running OS 10.9 Maverick.) We think it’s the ideal medium for both illustrated non-fiction titles for adults and children’s picture books.

Or explore the delightful New Reader series for young children who are learning to read. You can receive one of our kids’ iBooks for free from iTunes. Go here for details.

the cover of Popchuck's GhostWith the recent release of Popchuck’s Ghost, a juvenile novel by kids’ author Paul Toffanello, Bungalo Books has its first non-illustrated ebook available from both Amazon and iTunes. While our illustrated books are only available for reading on iPads, this novel can be read on iPhones, iPads, computers and, of course, Amazon’s Kindles. And yes, there will be more to come… next up are ebook versions of Bug and Frogger, the first juvenile novels that we printed several years ago.
